    Hello-
I've been using Parallels 12 with an external 4K display for some time now and its been ok. I am now having a problem that I am unable to solve.

    Description:
    - Text size is unresponsive and small within Excel when using a 4K display within Parallels.
    - You can see the problem here:
    - Changing the font size of text within excel has no effect on the display size.

    Setup:
    - Mac OS 10.13.2
    - Macbook Pro 13" i5 8GB ram with Intel Iris Graphics and 'Default for display' selected in display preferences
    - Parallels v. 12.2.1 with 512MB of ram allocated to VM and 'Best for Retina' selected
    - Windows 7 Home Premium with Screen Resolution 'Make Text Smaller' automatically set at 199% (I am unable to change this. When I do, windows resets it back to 199%)

Any thoughts or additional information I can provide?

    Thanks.

Hello there. Please shut down Windows, open the virtual machine configuration window, navigate to Hardware -> Graphics and select 'Scaled' for 'Resolution'. Then, close the window, start Windows again and check if there's any difference this time.

    Thanks for the help!
I did what you said and everything was huge. So I went into windows screen resolution and had to reset text scaling back down to 100%. But now all text within the OS, Word, Excel, etc is extremely pixelated. Before I prevented this by selecting within the VM Config Window Resolution 'Best for Retina display". In the past, this made everything look crystal clear.

    Any other thoughts? Thanks!

I think I might have "fixed" it. Not sure what exactly fixed it, but when I hooked up an old non-4K monitor and ran everything it looked ok. So, I re-attached my 4K display and Parallels (or office or windows) seems to have reset itself.

Not sure what steps in there fixed it, but it looks like it did before.

    Thx.

Whoops... Nope. Not fixed. But, found a new bug in Parallels. When a user switches from a non-retina (High DPI) monitor, parallels recognizes the switch and automatically selects 'retina' in the config window. But, its actually in scaled mode. If you switch out of retina, and back into retina, this problem re-appears.

Hi @anotherusername , please try Actions > Reinstall Parallels Tools and check if that helps.
