Excel VBA error messages slow/delayed?

I do a lot of Excel VBA programming. Sometimes VBA's error dialog boxes appear immediately. More often, the box outline appears quickly and then the content appears a few seconds later. Sometimes nothing appears for 10+ seconds. Even compiler error messages are slow/delayed so the problem isn't my programs running slowly.

I only use Parallels/Windows for Office and Quicken. Nothing else seems slow. In fact, I'm amazed how quick and responsive they both are. Error messages in Excel itself usually appear quickly. I think I've seen some other delayed/slow dialog boxes but the VBA messages are almost always delayed/slow. I can't tell that the amount of delay depends on what else the Mac or Windows OS are doing or whether other applications are running. I've been using Parallels/Windows/Office for about a year. I sort of feel that the delays may have gotten worse over the last few weeks or months. But maybe I'm just getting more irritated by them.

Does Parallels have some general problem displaying dialog boxes? Is this a known problem with Office? Or Excel? Or VBA? Or do I need to do something different in my configuration?

    My Configuration:
    Parallels: 7.0.15107.
I've installed all the updates it told me about.
I think my Configuration is still pretty much the installation defaults but I may have made changes I've forgotten.
    Office: 2007 SP3
Windows OS: 7 Home Premium SP1 with automatic updates turned on
Mac OS: Lion 10.7.5 with all updates.
Hardware: iMac mid 2011. 2.7 GHz Intel Core I5, 4GB memory
