OK, so I will apologize if this is the wrong place to post this, but just found this site & figured I'd give it a shot. My boss uses a Mac in the office, and has need to gather a particular report from an Access dB on our network. Unfortunately, since Access isn't part of the MS-Office suite on a Mac, I instead created an Excel document which is based on the Access dB. I formatted it into a Pivot table, and you simply hit the Refresh button to bring the data current. However, for some reason, the Excel document only comes up as Read Only, and is more cumbersome to run on the Mac, than say on my Windows 7 laptop. It has occurred to me that I could just load Excel (or Access?) on Parallels on his Mac to see if the functionality is any better. Does anyone have any experience on this? (Note, Excel would be a better solution, as the Pivot table is already established and has more simple controls / familiarity for my boss, and trending of data is easy. Any help is greatly appreciated.
