Hi, seeking assistance with what steps I need to take to expand the RAM and HD memory for the guest OS - in my case Windows 7. Out of interest, is there a default amount of HD memory set aside for the guest OS when installing Parallels 7?

I installed Parallels 7 and Windows 7 yesterday on a September 2011 MBP i5 with 8GB RAM and 500GB HD.

    TIA.

The default is 1 GB RAM and 64 GB hard disk size but you can change those values before Windows is installed by selecting the check box "Customize settings before installation".

You can change the RAM size and hard disk size after installation.

For RAM size, go to Virtual Machine -> Configure -> General -> Memory

For hard disk size, go to Virtual Machine -> Configure -> Hardware -> Hard Disk 1 -> Edit...

You can change the settings only when the virtual machine is not running. You can access the Configure option from the Virtual Machine menu, or by right clicking the virtual machine in the Virtual Machine List window, or by clicking the gear icon (Configure) at the bottom right of the Virtual Machine window.
