All of a sudden, my Windows 10 Boot Camp partition will not start up. It was working fine up until today. I am getting the following error:

When I click on More Details, I see this:

    Finally, I see this:

    I've tried the following suggestions:
    • Delete the PVM file completely and re-import Boot Camp
    • Run chkdsk /f on the Boot Camp hard drive and re-import Boot Camp
    • Force unmount the Boot Camp volume in OSX and re-import Boot Camp (I also checked that the process was not running)
I can't get anything to work. I had this once before and remember resolving it with the unmount in OSX terminal, but it does not work this time. And yes, I have the latest Parallels. Any ideas? This is extremely frustrating.

    Hi @DarrenM1
Please follow the steps below and check if it goes
    1. Uninstall Parallels Desktop 11 for Mac using PDRemove.zip
    2. Open Disk Utility and run a permissions repair on your startup volume:
Select your MacintoshHD on the left side of the window, select First Aid tab on the right side
    3. Reinstall Parallels Desktop 11 for Mac
    4. Follow this article to add the boot camp partition to Parallels Desktop manually.

Reinstalling Parallels did not work. The problem isn't with the start up volume. It is the Boot Camp partition that appears as read-only in OSX. Why would this have suddenly happened? I did not change any partitions.

    Hello DarrenM1,
Please follow the instructions outlined at and check how it goes. If the issue still persists, disable EFI boot and change the hard disk location from SATA to IDE or vice versa.
