Hi, I like to publish documents such as text files and adobe files and powerpoint slides from 2X Console. What I did: 1) From the Publish document Shortcut---> Did not work. 2) From Add button->select file type -> select the target->apply -> Did not work. 3)Followed as much as possible: http://www.2x.com/forums/viewtopic.php? ... led+launch http://www.2x.com/forums/viewtopic.php? ... led+launch http://www.2x.com/forums/viewtopic.php? ... +specified 4) Since this thing was not working, I added .txt extension on my system variables under environmental variables. Exact Error Message : Failed to Launch "%UserProfile%\Desktop\testpublishing.txt" on Server XXX.XXX.XX.XX The system cannot find the file specified. Message is kicked off by 2X Application Server v6.0. Server is Win Server 2003 ENT Client is the latest version of 2X ApplicationServerClient. Any insight would be greatly appreciated. My thinking is, it should work with the options given in the applicaiton server. But somehow..... Thanks, Tom
Try creating a folder that everyone has read access to on the server (the terminal server) and place the *.txt doc there. Go to your console and click on the "Add Document" button, choose "Text Document" as the file type, then go from there. That's what I do at least.
Hi Mike, Late reply, sorry... I even gave the folder a full control by everyone. I think it is the path problem. Tom
Hi there, Does the file "testpublishing.txt" exist on the desktop of ALL the users?? I would change the way you are publishing, as follows.. Publish notepad, and in the parameters enter the file name "%UserProfile%\Desktop\testpublishing.txt". Like this notepad will always be available and if the txt file is not available notepad will create it. Nixu
