FILE ASSOCIATIONS PARTIALLY WORKING - Secondary School

Currently students login to our domain, they click on My Computer on the local desktop & file associations work with the icon and the correct application loads and the contents.

Clicking on the Published 'My Computer' within the 2x Utility, files are not
associated with the icons, upon clicking on any of the office documents some open the application & contents correctly, others appear to load 2007 Microsoft Office Component - which tries to convert the file but never works.

We use the webportal, and as students use the 2X Utility the published 'My Computer' does the same at home.

Is it also possible when downloading documents .DOC,.PDF from the internet to simply click open when downloading has finished
(as currenlty clicking open the application loads but not the contents) we have to save the files first then click open.

Im guessing different parameters are required for all these issues?

Any suggestions or permanent fix solution would be great!
