Additional information: I also have Bootcamp installed on this macbook, and the virtual machine that loads by default is "My Bootcamp" (My Bootcamp also appears on my desktop) When I installed Parallels, I also installed a fresh Windows XP Home. But the fact that the virtual machine is called "My Bootcamp" makes me wonder if the Windows XP Home installed under Bootcamp is the one that is actually running.

Every time I start up, I get the standard windows error message that is usually associated with a disorderly shutdown.

The message reads: " Checking File System on C: The type of file system is FAT 32. One of your drives needs to be checked for consistency...." The message also states you can bypass the check by hitting any key.

    Problem is:

    1. keyboard does not seem to be recognized...cause no matter what key I hit, it does not cancel the check.
    2. I always do an orderly shutdown....so this message should not really occur.

Can anyone suggest a way around this?
