Running beta 2.2 and trying to access files on my Primary (WinXT) from my Guest (Fedora Core 5). I understand Samba to be the preferred method, but have no experience with this. A few questions - is Samba a part of the FC5 distribution? (I can find some config/support files ... but not the smbd daemon). Can anyone propose a straightforward way to install/configure Samba to support primary-guest file transfer, or recommend an alternative approach? Any help or guidance is greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Doesn't Fedora have a program under administration called "Shared Folders"? Ubuntu has it and it's just a matter of telling it to share X folder and what permissions.
Don't see anything re: shared folders, or using this option in FC5. Parallels advised using Samba ... I'm just to get more information on this approach, or any other that might work. I may be missing something simple, but again I do not see shared folders within Fedora. Thx for the response.
