Parallels needs to develop support for firewire (400 & 800) devices. Our institution has multiple scientific instruments which use firewire interfaces. Our department has used bootcamp since it was available. However with 200+ computers to maintain in a teaching environment, we were hoping to use Parallels to simplify our maintenance and deployment of these computer systems. However, with no firewire support, it looks as if we will have to scrap that notion. The first company to offer firewire support for virtual systems will be the winner...
I agree I guess on one hand I have been using parallels since version 3 and I didn't realize this until now but I certainly agree, I can't believe there have been 7 versions of parallels and still no Firewire support! Do you know parallels runs on a Mac? Macs tend to have Firewire.... I like parallels but for all the money I've spent on upgrades over the years I'm disappointed that I can't get my firewire camera to work.
