Morning guys...have iMac in office (just Mac) few year, as now iMac have new machine just now, so would like to use the new iMac to replace my home old PC desktop (windows version), then this iMac should have both Mac and Windows, as after reading, think Parallel maybe a bit easier then Bootcamp.

So I have some below questions...(some of them maybe very simple....hahahha)
    1. Do I need to buy the on-line paralles desktop 11 for Mac (what is the differencer between 10 and 11), but how come now is yearly fee ? Just a single licence is HK$59x, wowo...
    2. Then to buy the licence of Win 10 ???
    3. For HD partition issue: As my old PC desktop have HD C, D, E, in Mac, just have 1 HD, how to do the partiton and then I can store the data
    4. Backup issue: would like to use 1 ext HD to do the time machine and also backup data in Win, which one you guys can recommend for both functions ?

Thanks so much for all those comments !

    Hi Ray,
    1. Parallels Desktop 11 is the latest version and will support the latest operating systems form both Mac & Windows. You can either choose 1-time purchase or subscription, please see this article for more information.
    2. Yes you can buy Windows 10 and it is fully compatible with Parallels Desktop 11 but you should purchase a separate copy of Windows to run in Parallels Desktop.
    3. All the Windows files will be in .pvm format and will be stored as a single partition .
    4. Please refer to this article to back up your Windows using Time Machine
