This is my first post so forgive me if I am on the wrong forum. My problem is to get the function keys, f1 to f15, to work in Windows. I am using an Intel Mac with OS 10.4.10 and Paralleles Version 3 build 5160. I read that the function keys will work in Windows mode by pressing the fn and the function key. Problem is that my Apple keyboard does not have an fn key. I also read somewhere that there was an option in Preferances to enable the funtion keys in Windows, I do not remember wether that was in System Preferanceds or Parallels Preferances, however the option is not present in my version. I would appreciaite any help with this proble. I have a Windows application which requires the function keys.
Function keys inop in windows My MacBook Pro 13", Sys 10.5.8, Parallels 4.0, Windows XP Pro has multiple operations for one each F-key. In Spaces Preferences you can reassign the F keys to another key. My problem is I can not press "ENTER" in Windows. There doesn't seem to be a key combination I can use to represent "ENTER" in Windows. I need help too! You can also chose a specific F key by Clicking on the Keyboard symbol at the bottom of the Parallels window, then select the F key function you need. My problem is that Windows doesn't recognize any key combinations to make "ENTER" work.
Bonzaman, try the following article: http://kb.parallels.com/en/5020 It was originally created at times of Parallels 3.0 version. However, it is more about the situation when the F keys are overlapped by the Mac system keys. If you have a different situation, please be more specific. Also, indeed, the option to enable/disable Mac OS system shortcuts from Parallels Desktop preferences has appeared only in 4.0 version.
BruceM, that is actually a bit odd. I assume there is no trouble with "Enter" key on the Mac side? Maybe you have some specific type of keyboard? Also check in device manager what kind of driver is installed for keyboard, it should be a standard Microsoft keyboard driver.
