I have a late 2011 MacBook Pro with 2.2GHz i7 8GB 1333 DDR3, 120GB OCZ Agility-3 SSD and an ATI Radeon 6750M 512MB running OSX 10.83 and I am running Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit on Parallels Desktop 8 with the latest updates for both. My virtual machine statistics are as follows: 4 Cores, 25 GB, 4GB Ram, 256MB of Video (I should also mention I run it with no mac applications open aside from parallels itself) I play a very old Windows based MMO called Tibia that has some pretty laughable system requirements: http://www.tibia.com/support/?subtopic=faq&question=systemrequirements he client program runs on all Windows XP (Service Pack 2 or higher)/Vista/7 systems with DirectX version 5.0 or later, or OpenGL and on Linux systems with libc version 6 or later. To ensure the best possible playing experience we recommend that your computer should have a CPU of 500 MHz or better as well as a 3D accelerated video graphics adapter (e.g. cards with ATI Radeon or NVIDIA GeForce chipsets). The game renders properly when I load it in Direct X 5 but the framerates are sub 10fps and the game lighting effects and so on and so forth don't work with DX5. When I load the game in Direct X 9 the framerates increase to 100+ but I get these strange lines all across the game window (it obscures the viewport but not so much so that I can't see at all). The game still appears to suffer from serious frame rate oriented lag in this mode as well. The parallels view modes seem to make little difference in the results. I am making do by using bootcamp right now to play but it would be much more convenient to no longer have to do so. Also mentioning, Dungeons and Dragons Neverwinter MMO similar issues. Runs fine on Bootcamp, incredibly poor framerates on parallels, even with settings turned all the way down it's unplayable. Granted, this is a very new game with much greater system requirements and honestly this is only a secondary concern for me I just figured I would give some feedback where I had some to give. http://nw.perfectworld.com/about/faq#requirements Is there anything I could be doing differently to net different results? Should I hang it up and just use bootcamp for my gaming needs? I see people on here playing much more modern games with minimal to no issues so it's something perplexing that this dinosaur of a game won't run properly. Thanks for your help.
