Installed the latest Parallels build and saw on the forums that some were finally having some success loading their Garmin units so I thought I'd try my Quest. Much to my surprise, Mapsource recognized my Quest and began loading the unit. I was estatic! I noticed that the data was moving very slowly. My 105 mb map set was showing @22 mins time remaining. As it was loading in the background (in Coherence mode), I jumped to the //'s forum site to publicize my success. Before I could do so I saw in the background the blue screen of death pop up. //'s crashed before the loading could complete rendering my unit useless. This is a problem as I just moved to PA and ouldn't find my car w/out my GPS. I paced for a few minutes, cussed a bit then restarted XP and Mapsource. The map set in Mapsource had gone from 130 waypoints to only 4. Okay, I can rebuild that if I have to but my unit wasn't working. I finally got Mapsource to reognize my unit (not as easy as the first time, had to plug and unplug several times). As I took a deep breath, i clicked send. Again, the data transfer was agonizingly slow. This time I stopped working on my machine while the load was in progress. After @15 minutes the data was sent. My orig waypoints were still on my unit. Once again, I took a deep breath and clicked to transfer my unit's data to Mapsource hoping to get my waypoints back to Mapsource. the transfer took only a few seconds. All is at peace with the world. 15" MBP Garmin Quest City Nav north America v8 Mapsource v6.11.3 USB Driver grmnusb.sys: 2.1.0.0
