    Hi! (First of all : excuse my english)

    I just installed gentoo using Parallels Desktop (kernel 2.6.27-r7)
    My problem is that I forgot to select the driver for my networking card while I was compiling the kernel (make menuconfig).
    My question is : What should I cross in :
    Device Drivers -->
    Network Device Support -->

    ... in order to have a running eth0 ? I did search on the Internet starting by my VM networking card Mac which gave me constructors : Parallels Inc. ...

    Any idea ?

    I'm not a Linux guru, so can't give a complete answer (and always do compiling new kernels with command make oldconfig :)

    In Parallels VM (until Parallels Tools are installed), used Realtek8029 network card. It is an NE2000 compatible card.

    PS: and when Parallels Tools are installed, the special Parallels network driver should be used if all is ok with Parallels Tools installation

    Yup it worked thank you (and pciutils that I couldn't emerge since I didn't have a valid eth0)

    ;)
