Hi All I realise this has probably been posted before but ive done a search and cant find a concrete answer for it. I have been using parallels for a couple of months now and have found it to be a little sluggish while doing any intensive 3d modelling work. What I would like to do is use parallels for 2d and light 3d work but also have the option to run natively via bootcamp. I would ideally like to transfer the existing XP installation including the installed applications to the bootcamp partition and get parallels to boot from that. Is there any easy way of doing this or will I have to perform a fresh install. Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated Many thanks in advance James
Hello James, You can create a new VM (Parallels Desktop menu bar -> File -> New) in Custom mode and choose "Use Boot Camp" on the fourth step. Best regards, Xenos
Xenos Many thanks for the speedy reply, just one more question. Does this option allow me to 'migrate' my existing windows installation in paralells to the bootcamp partition or will I have to install it again (including my applications). Thanks again for the reply
Hello James, I am sorry to say you can not transfer existing Windows installation in Parallels to Boot Camp partition. You will have to perform a fresh install. Best regards, Xenos
