a currently running on a macbook with both os X and windows XP running on parallels. I am an avid mmorpg player and have mainly stuck to WOW since I got my macbook. However, I have been looking into other games, of which one has really interested me. However, upon installing it on my windows xp parallel, it gives me an error stating I must have direct X 9.0c and the latest video drivers installed for my system. Direct X installed without any problems on the parallels, however, I am having a hard time finding the appropiate drivers for my system on the parallels. I have downloaded both the gma 945 chipset family (which includes gma 950) for windows xp home edition and the home center edition. However, my version of xp is off of what I believe is the system pack 2 version. Can anyone help me in finding the correct driver? I read somewhere in the forums that parallels does not support anything above direct X 8 . . but the installation of directx 9.0c completed without complication. Please advise me on where I can turn to get the driver so I can get this game up and running. I would have happily tried boot camp . . . but i cannot seem to find a download for it anymore and it would be more work than just getting a driver to install. Thank you for any feedback you can give me. NOTE: I have already tried the software update for my mac as well as looking through the install disk for the drivers. My system refuses to run the install disk on the windows xp parallel system, even to explore it for the drivers. It just comes up as a blank page. Parallels does not support DirectX 9 yet as far as I know. Also, they use a custom install of DirectX in order to make things work with the real hardware. Installing a stock download of DirectX on a VM is not a good idea and probably breaks things. Whatever drivers you need for video are contained within the Parallels Tools install, but you will have to wait until Parallels gets DirectX 9 working before you will be able to use it. I thought WOW used OpenGL and not DirectX ? There is a Mac native install (universal binary now) of WOW also.
