Well, after two weeks with Parallels and Windows 7 on my new iMac, I can report being a happy camper. I researched the move to a Mac for about 3 years, and really did not think it would be this easy to run Windows on a Mac. Parallels purchase, download and installation was a breeze. Clean-installing Windows 7 under Parallels was a breeze. Downloading and installing fresh versions of my Windows software that I could not replace with Apple software was just like working on my old PC. Copying the PC's data files to the iMac via Time Capsule was very simple. Now that it's all set up, it really is like having two computers on one peaceful screen. Amazing stuff. (But maybe the other shoe is just about to fall...)

I agree. I am in the same situation as you. We have certain programs(some very old) that run on Windows only. It's nice to have just one laptop to lug around and know that I can use all the programs I need to. My Parallels has been running very stable through all updates and additions. Very pleased. The only thing I might be able to complain about is the time it takes programs to respond on the guest Windows VM, but now that I think about it, they didn't respond very quickly when they ran on my dedicated PC either ;) That's why I bought a Mac.
