Help setting the default domain for XP
I am running Parallels Build 1970 w/ Windows XP SP2 installed on a Macbook Pro. I connect to my work remotely via the built in VPN though my airport connection at home. I'd like to be able to see the windows network when XP is running, but I can't.
I tried bridged ethernet (the setting that I use at work when I'm onsite) and that gave me an error "Problem with network adapter is detected. Please check if network cable is connected to the physical network adapter attached to the virtual machine."
I then tried Shared Networking which allowed me to view the company's intranet, but I was unable to run some of the programs that access internal databases nor connect to some of the network drives.
Can any one offer suggestions on how I should have this set up so I can have full access to the windows network via my VPN connection on my Mac?
EDIT---
So I found that the problem is that I need to enter the domain name after the machine name in order to access it. I can do that when trying to access the network drives, but I don't have control over the installed applications that access internal databases.
Is there a way that I can tell the network connection to default to a certain domain name?
