I run OS X natively and have Windows 7 running through Parallels. I want to set up a printer for my Windows 7, but when I try to install the drivers it needs, a message pops up saying I am using the wrong operating system. Any ideas on how I can install this printer? It's an Epson r280 by the way.

    Thanks

Go to the Epson website and download the correct driver for your OS.

It's a USB printer so if you want to use the Windows drivers for it, then you have to tell Parallels to take over the printer (Devices -> USB -> Epson r280).

An easier way to print to the printer would be to leave it connected as a Mac printer (don't assign the device to your virtual machine). Then in Windows you just print to the "HP Color LaserJet 8500 PS" printer that is installed by the Parallels Tools. Make sure that Devices -> Printer Port 1 -> Printer is set to your printer or the default printer.

Read the "Setting Up a Printer in a Virtual Machine" section in the Parallels Desktop help for more information.

I'm having similar problems loading new canon printer through parallels. My canon iX4000 comes up as default printer but the details say it is a hp colour laserjet 8500 ps, not big prob except it wont let me print A3. It says it is but actually prints out in A4. Please any help!

Need more details. Your canon iX4000 comes up as default printer where? Is it USB or network printer? Did you install the Windows drivers? Maybe a screenshot or two would help.
