Hi,
I've saerched the forums without success before posting this.
I have a Windows XP VM under Fusion 2.05 on a Boot Camp partion. I foolishly upgraded to OSX 10.7 (from 10.6) without checking compatibility, and now my VM will not start. I get an error along the lines of "Restart with 32 bit kernel", which I don't believe is an option in Lion. I've tried the work around that has helped Fusion 3.x users with this problem(delete and restore the VM), but no joy.
My questions:
- If I install PD, will Transporter be able to read the VM in the boot camp partition, or will I need to use Fusion to export the VM to an external drive? Do I need Transporter at all?
- Would you recommend keeping the PD VM under Boot Camp? I'd prefer not to unless there is a compelling reason.
- Can I use the PD trial to see how this works without disrupting my existing VM (thus preserving the option to upgrade to Fusion 3.x as an alternate solution)?
- Shoud I expect any issues with the VM after I migrate to PD, or does this usually go smoothly? I understnad that I may need to reactivate Widnows, which is not a concern.
Thanks in advance. My computer configuration is shown below.
