I was running parallels for mac and had a windows xp vm running on mac osx, and from within the mac i could use parallels explorer to extract files out of the vm hard drive. I longer have the mac, but i have the vm files, how can i extract files from that virtual hard drive from a windows system. Is there a utility I can install on the windows side? I tried installing parallels workstation with the thought of importing the vm into it, but it won't open it, and the windows version doesn't have an explorer utility.

Have you tried to setup a new VM and just attach the disk image with your files to it?
