Hi, I have a macbook air with the Intel HD Graphics 5000 chipset. I have successfully installed Windows 10 on it, but I would like to use a better driver for this chipset than the default Microsoft display driver which seems very slow. I tried to go to the Intel web-site and download the Windows driver for this chip-set but it failed to install saying that this system did not meet the minimum requirements (whatever those are). Does Parallels provide any Windows 10 drivers for the macbook air? Would appreciate any tips on how I can update this driver.
Hello DallasC, Please install Parallels Tools, by clicking Actions > Install Parallels Tools . This should install the Windows drivers.
Hi Sylvester, Thank you for your reply. The Parallel Tools seemed to install successfully. I can see that the display adapter driver is now the Parallels Display Adapter. The monitor driver however is still the Generic Non PnP Monitor. Maybe this is okay. I can also see that the Sound Controller is the Parallels Audio Controller and verified that it does play audio beautifully Thanks again for your help! Dallas
Hi DallasC, Make sure the number of Generic non-PnP Monitors matches the number of real Monitors connected to your Mac. But the display If you see exclamation marks next to those devices or "Parallels Display Adapter (WDDM)" is not installed (some other display adapter is shown instead) WDDM is for Parallels Display adapter.
