Hello I have a MacBook running OSX Leopard... with this I use a portable Canon iP90 printer connecting via bluetooth. The VM is running Windows XP. I have set up the VM to use my work network printer and the bluetooth Canon, however when i try to print using the Canon nothing happens except for a message in the print queue saying "access denied, unable to connect" Can anyone enlighten me on how to set up for the use of a bluetooth printer... I have tried looking in Utilities>Boot Camp Assistant>Contents>Resources for drivers but there isn't anything there
UPDATE I have installed a driver and selected 'Apple-wireless' but it comes up with a message saying that the device is in use.... i have tried many variations of turning BT off and restarting the VM etc but this message still occurs...
Hello Adam77, You can set Parallels default printer or connect your printer as a USB device. In the second case you might get the error message "USB device you are trying to connect to the virtual machine is being used by another process". Please have a look at this article to know more about the issue and possible workarounds. You might also need to install BootCamp drivers on your virtual machine to make Bluetooth working properly. Insert the original Leopard DVD into the DVD drive of the Mac. Connect the disk to the virtual machine by choosing the "Default CD/DVD" drive under the "Devices - DVD rom" menu. BootCamp drivers will get installed automatically. Best regards, Xenos
Is there no way of setting up for Bluetooth connection to this printer...? I already have the Bluetooth driver and that Is why I get the "...already in use" message. If I turn off bluetooth, restart the VM and then try and connect to BT, I get the message AND BT becomes unavailable to BOTH machines -won't even show up as hardware in System Preferences- until you restart the VM ...then BT comes back online. I haven't tried USB connection with the printer, as yet, because my priority (and preference) is for BT connectivity...
