How do I use old HDD with new hdd?

    I am using 3188 with 10.4.9. Today when starting up I received the "Disk Read Error" when starting parallels. I removed and reinstalled parallels and receive the same error. So I have backed up my HDD file and wil;l install a cpmpletely new VM tonight. My question is, How do I use my old HDD file with my new VM to extract files, etc?

    Take a look at the properties window

    On your properties window (the one where you start the VM from) select a second drive and point the file path to the old .hdd file.
