I'm running a MacBook Pro with OS 10.9, Parallels 8 and Windows 8.1. My Parallels VM kept ever-expanding in size. Solutions I found, said to clear SnapShots or delete the Parallels.log file on the Mac side of the the system. Also compressing the disk was suggested. None of these fixes had anything to do with my problem. I found a 72GB "parallels" Text Document in the following location: This PC/Local Disk(C)/Users/UserName/AppData/Local I had a problem with the delete function and just dragging it to the trash. I kept being told I needed to be an "Administrator" which I was. I restarted Windows and this file was reduced from 72GB down to 8K. I have no idea what this file is or how it got so large but finding and deleting it may solve your problem. Everything else on the machine seems for function normally.
