I actually tried to find all this out but the Windows website is impenetrable. I've been going around in circles and I'm over it.

I'm in college and I want to run Windows OneNote on my macbook air 2014 with 256 ssd and 4gb ram. I realize that's a bit light on ram but hey that's life, I got what I got.

My .edu email address has gotten me full free access to office in any flavor I like which is great, that's not the issue. The issue is I really want to run the full Windows version of OneNote, not the slightly scaled down Mac version. And forsure not the terrible web version. It's Windows or bust.

Now, Parallels is also not the problem. I've determined I can get a discounted student copy for $40. Sweet, I'm in. EXCEPT, I'm not pulling out my credit card til I can figure out what I need from Windows.

Ofcourse I'd love to get some type of student discount for Windows, but alas, the Windows Education discount sites I've gone to don't seem to recognize my prestigious institution as one of the ones that get a discount. It's actually kind of confusing. I put my college into the dropdown, and the discount page takes me to a page of hardware and software including office (which I already have), but NOT Windows.

So I look around and navigate to the Windows section, and it basically just starts over giving me an option to click on either Windows Home or business.

At this point I think I'm boned on discounts. So should I just buy Windows Home edition?

    -How much is it?

-Can I only install Windows on my mba and not on my imac at home? What's the fee to use it on both my computers? Do I gotta pay for Windows twice?

-Can I only install Parrallels on my mba and not on my imac? That's kinda wack. Newsflash: People own and use more than one computer, even for specifically only one use such as school! Have you guys not heard of desktops and laptops? Cmonnnnnn...

    But I digress.

Help a cracka out. What are my options? Am I gunna spend $150 to run OneNote?
