How to convert VHD to Parallels HDD ?

    I searched here and google .. none of the solutions posted worked or very old. I am using PD 8 on Mac. I have a VHD (windows XP) and tried using prl_convert ..
    prl_convert /Volumes/Macintosh\ HD/Parallels/WINXP.VHD --dst=/Volumes/Macintosh\ HD/Parallels/

    WARNING: Reconfiguration iso is unavailable. Linux guest reconfiguration is impossible
    An internal error (135360529) has occurred. Please contact the Parallels support team for assistance.

    Can somebody post clear instructions how to convert VHD to HDD. Thanks !
