How do I debug connection Host Only & Internet Sharing?

My system runs fine using bridged networking.

However, when I want to use my Verizon EVDO connection via Internet Sharing to En2 and Host Only Networking, something is amiss. I can ping to the Host (EVDO) address, but not beyond it. The Parallels Host Guest adapter is showing a leased address of 10.37.129.2 with no gateway configured. Windows Guest IP is set via DHCP to 192.168.2.2 with Gateway to 192.168.2.1

None of these make a whole lot of sense to me.

I have deleted Prefs files, reinstalled the 10.4.7 update , done the permissions thing etc.

There is nothing amiss in the logs. I am not sure, where to go from here.

What are the expected address of the Host-Guest adapter and the Guest IP? I always thought, they would be 10.xx.xx.xx?

What is the relationship of the Host-Guest adapter IP to the the Guest IP?
I would be glad not to use DHCP and just hardcode the IP addresses.
