How to network with other computers with Parallels v10

I am running Parallels v10 running windodws 8.1 on a mavericks mini. I have 3 other systems. In the mavericks environment I can access shared resources on those systems. when I open up the network explorer with in windows I only see the local machine. The Network setting in the devices menu is set to shared. Actually I have the same setup on a macbook pro which also cannot view other network computers. Yes, I can view and access these network computers with in mavericks. Can someone tell me what magic incantation I need to perform.
