For some reason, every time I reboot my Win-XP VM, the OS prompts me to run CHKDSK. If I accept the suggestion, CHKDSK stalls at some point in the process, frequently a different point each time it is allowed to run. If I try to run CHKDSK from the CMD prompt (or by right-clicking on the C-Drive and using the utility) I get the usual denial message about trying to check a disk that is in use. If this were a PC I would attempt to boot from my XP installation disk and run CHKDSK on my C-Drive from that OS. What is the method for running CHKDSK on a Parallels VM. Or what other options do I have to fix this Hard Drive image that is apparently damaged ? -- Bart
