I am running Parallels in Coherence mode. If I shut down the Mac, using the Shut Down command, do I first have to go to the start command in Windows XP and shut it down first, or does the process of using the shutdown command in the MAC automatically shutdown Windows without corrupting it?
You should shut down Windows first, unless in Parallels Preferences you have Suspend checked for "On application quit." I could be wrong but I don't think Coherence is a factor in this. David
It will not corrupt Windows. When you switch on your Mac again and start VM you will find Windows exactly as you left it. In most cases Windows won't even notice that it was interrupted, though it is recommended that you stop any active programs in your VM (like Windows Update, etc.) before you suspend it.
