I switched from WiFi to USB wireless connection to the Internet.
For unknown reasons the WIndows XP claims that I made basic modification and it has to be reactivated again. I can't access the Internet from the WindowsXP side, which is necessary to activate the WIndows with Microsoft.

The Device:Network Adapter icon shows a red X across and it is disconnected. If I click on the fold down menue and connect, it makes no difference, and I can't access the Internet.(There is no problem connecting to the Internet from the Apple Mac side.)

The COnfiguration Editor shows that the Network Adapter 1:Bridged Ethernet, Enabled,Default Adapter.
    Shared Networking can't be selected.
I have Parallels 3 and had no problem with it until just lately. (MacBook with Tiger)

This can be problem with USB modem driver
Some of them shutdown Parallels NAT NIC.
    Please try following
    Restart Mac,
    plugin modem
    in Terminal
    sudo -killall -HUP pvsnatd
