I was using WinXP with Parallels 7 with no problem whatsoever... So due to some apps and dev things requiring me to upgrade to Win 8, I decided to upgrade Parallels as well.
I lost my WinXP virtual HDD after upgrading and trying to resize the disk. It simply stopped working....

Ok so I got a month old backup and got everything back up, and this time I installed Win 8 via bootcamp to a new partition. And I made a huge mistake to open the bootcamp as a VM in Parallels 8... Now it won't boot anymore, either from Parallels nor Bootcamp...

It says the /Boot/BCD file is missing or something. I tried some bootrec fixes via command prompt, no dice. It simply won't fix anything, won't boot and always gives me that Boot/BCD error (0xc000000d0)

I hadn't have any replies on my other thread regarding how could I recover my virtual HDD after trying to resize it, but I have some hopes that someone might be able to help me out on this...

Anyways, I feel that I should have sticked with bootcamp all along, all the time I wasted trying to solve things like these would have been to switch boot and get things done the same way... Giving up on Parallels after this, for good.

    Hi

If it's possible, could you please reproduce resize issue once again, send a problem report (Help->Report a problem), and post report ID here.

    About windows 8 issue:
    - did you install windows 8 in EFI mode ?
    - is recovery option available at windows 8 boot time ?
    - please, send a problem report for this issue too.
