I've used the new Mac ImageTool.app to try and enlarge my default 3.99GB drive to something larger -- I tried 6144MB, then 6148MB. The application executes fine. But the VM reports that the drive is still the same size (both times). Am I doing something wrong? Has anyone else had success with enlarging a drive? This is an Expanding drive. MBpro 15, 10.4.6, 2GB RAM. Beta6. Tx.
Image tool should be actually making the partition bigger BUT the guest OS still needs to made to use that larger partiton. If you're talking Windows you need to use presizer or Partition Magic to actually make Windows aware of the larger partition size. Read some of the posts in here for more detail on this step.
