Hi, I just started running the Time Machine back in my Mac a few days ago. The process is slow and painful, perhaps because the HD use for the backup is on the network and I usually connect to it wireless. The day before yesterday I was working and everything started to be slower than usual and I got the message that "the Time Machine was backing up so the VM may be slow" (something of that sort). Because I was working I stop the backup and keep doing my stuff. I also turn off the Time Machine so it won't start every hour when I'm in the middle of something. Now every time I start my windows VM I get the message about the TM backup although no TM backup is in progress. I also think that the TM is kind of slower than before because of this. Does anyone have a suggestion about this? Thanks in advance.
did you try to turn off Tm and restart the VM (would it show the same massage). I doubt Parallels Desktop message may slow down TM backup - performance may go down a lil bit cause VM uses some RAM - and nothing more
Yes I tried restarting the VM, I also completely shut it down and started it again but the message was coming up regardless. I ended up creating a new Time Machine backup and let it complete without interruptions. That toke care of the problem. Thank you for your reply.
