Install of Mac PD 7 hangs at about 25%

Hi -

Someone in the office was using PD for Mac, version 4. He updated OS to Lion, and we could no longer get into PD anymore. So, we bought version 7 and set about installing it.

What happened was the install pretty much stopped at about 25% progress. I called support and opened a ticket. What I told support was that the install had not progressed in about 25 minutes. It's stuck at "Upgrading Win XP Preparing to upgrade your virtual machine..." Support told me to wait about an hour and see if it moved any, then respond to the ticket by email if we still needed help.

If I try to close the program, I'm warned not to do it until it finishes upgrading. We left the office at closing time, and it was still sitting there in that state, after about an hour. Does it really take a long, long time to install version 7 over version 4?

Will bad things happen if I kill the install process or restart the computer? I have to say that I'm not impressed with support. The phone support was pretty lame (just wait another hour) and the email I got was very poorly written and some parts didn't even make sense. I'm hoping someone here can help, based on their own experiences, so I won't have to deal with support.
