I have searched this forum and have not found answers to my questions. I did see one that referred to a page number that far exceeds the number of pages I have in my Desktop 3.0 for Mac manual though.

I have a MacBook Pro, 2.4 Gig, 4 gig of memory with Leopard 10.5.1.

I had installed Parallels some time ago but found it did not have the resources to run memory hungry programs like Photoshop so I removed it and installed Vista Ultimate in a 80 gig Boot Camp partition.

I would like to install Paralells again to run some other programs while I am working with my Mac.

    My questions are:
    1) Can I install Paralells and not have to re-install Boot Camp and the Windows programs I already have installed?

    2) Will I be able to access and use those programs via Parallels? (Including not having to install a second copy of Vista)

    3) If I can do this, is there a step by step set of directions how to do this install? (Understanding that I only have 246 pages in my manual.)

    4) If I can do this... are there any words of wisdom or cautions I should be aware of?

    Thanks in advance

I found the manual in the downloads.

I would still appreciate any answers to the questions I posted.

    Hello,

yes, you can run your Boot Camp Windows via Parallels and you will still have all your applications and data that you have when you run Boot Camp natively. You will have to reactivate your Windows once when you run it via Parallels as Windows OS "sees" other hardware. You may also be asked for reactivation of other software for the same reason, it is a well-know problem and we are working hard on it, but now we can only advise you to address to company where you purchased software and explain, that you use the same computer with it in that case.

For the installation instructions please see page 265 of the User Guide.

And for the cautions, it is important to shut your Boot Camp VM down properly (Start->Shut Down) and everything should be ok.
