I just bought Parallels Desktop for Mac today. I am having some troubles. Ive installed the program. I recently had bootcamp on my computer and still do so that is how i switched between operating systems, but to make is more effient and easier for business i bought this program. When i go through the process of installin windows on th VM it goes all through partion, etc but when comes ot acutally installing windows I get this error message "FIELD ERROR- AN ERROR HAS BEEN ENCOUNTERED THAT PREVENTS SETUP FROM CONTINUING. ONE OF THE COMPONENTS THAT WINDOWS NEEDS TO CONTINUE SETUP COULD NOT BE INSTALLED. THIS REQUEST COULD NOT BE PERFORMED BECAUSE OF AN I/Q DEVICE ERROR. PRESS OK TO VIEW SETUP LOG FILE"" So I do that and this pops ups Error: Installation Failed: D:\I386:asms Error Message: The request could not be performed because of an I/Q device eror. So my question is, what do i do? it wont go any further. is there something i missed? THANKS!
Got this error also, but it went away. I'm also getting this error. I also used to get similar errors on an earlier build of Parallels (1848), and after rebooting through this error, the disk read properly and worked. I suggest persistence, and if that doesn't work, try another disk or VM image.
