    Hello,

Please follow the steps below in regards to the issue:

    1. Restart MAC, don't start any applications.

    2. Uninstall Parallels Desktop 4 using Uninstaller from .dmg package from the site:
    http://www.parallels.com/download/desktop/

    3. Try to install Parallels Desktop 2.5 using the .dmg package you have.
You may also find other localization versions here:
    http://kb.parallels.com/en/5802

    4. In case it will fail, please run the following commands from Terminal (Finder -> Applications -> Utilities), just copy them one by one:
    sudo rm -rf /System/Library/Extensions/prl_hid_hook.kext
(press Enter, your password will be required)
    sudo rm -rf /System/Library/Extensions/prl_hypervisor.kext
    press Enter
    sudo rm -rf /System/Library/Extensions/prl_netbridge.kext
    press Enter
    sudo rm -rf /System/Library/Extensions/prl_usb_connect.kext
    press Enter
    sudo rm -rf /System/Library/Extensions/prl_vnic.kext
    press Enter

    5. Then, reboot your Mac

    6. Install Parallels Desktop 2.5:

    7. Navigate to folder where Virtual machine .pvm bundle is located.

    8. Copy this file somewhere to external device to be sure that you will not lose any information.

    9. Right click on pvm bundle - select "Show Package Contents", new Finder window will open with content of bundle.

    10. We need bundle with hdd extension, right click on hdd bundle - select "Show Package Contents"
new Finder window will open with content of bundle.

    11. Copy .hds file from inside bundle to new location
    Please note:
File name may be long and not intuitive, like
    windowsxp.hdd.0.{5fbaabe3-6958-40ff-92a7-860e329aab41}.hds
You can rename it to more meaningful name like
    windowsxp.hds
And please do not change extension from .hds to any other

    12. You have now plain virtual disk file ready to be imported to another products:

    - 1. Start Parallels Image Tool (Applications -> Parallels)
    - 2. Select prepared disk
    - 3. Select Convert to New format

    13. Then, create a new virtual machine using existing .hdd image (New -> File -> Custom Installation ->follow the on-screen instructions -> choose "Use an existing hard disk image" locate your converted .hdd file -> follow the on-screen instructions -> at the last step where you will be asked to insert Windows CD click "More options" and uncheck "Start Windows installation" -> Click Finish and then try to start your Virtual Machine.).

Please let me know the status of the issue.

    Thank You.
