Installation Problems

So I had parallels desktop version 3.something.... Windows XP did some udpates and then it wasn't working anymore, so I figured I had to update Parallels desktop. Well lo and behold I mistakenly updates it to version 4, which I don't have a key for. So I deleted it and installed the version off my CD, and then did the "check for updates" thing to get it updated. It downloaded build 5608, which I hope is the latest version 3. However, whenever I tried to update it very early in the installation process it says "Please uninstall parallels server and try again" well I never had parallels server installed. Then it tells me that installed failed and to run the preflight script. I have done this, however it did not help the situation. It is very important that I get this working asap, any help would be much much appreciated! Thank you!

 

Similar situation. Same problem

I installed 4.0. It couldn't upgrade my VM so i got a refund and am trying to go back to 3.0 so that i can at least be back to a working state. But when i try to install 3.0, I see the error "Please uninstall parallels server and try again".
