I want to put XP on my Mac with Mac OS X as my main operating system. How much of my HD should I partition for XP? What setup options do you recommend (e.g. windows express vs. typical install vs. custom install, optimize for better performance of virtual machine or mac os x applications, etc.)?

I suggest you to increase MB memory to 2 gb, if you are using Leopard
As for installation methods, it depends of the customization you want to apply to VM
Express is working out of the box.
