Installer not working

I've downloaded the latest version of Parallels Desktop 7 for Mac and am running OSX Lion 10.7.4. For some odd reason the initial window with the "Getting Started" "Install" and "Uninstall" pops up, but whenever I click on "Install", it then "checks for updates" but takes me to the Uninstaller. The uninstaller then runs through and says "Uninstall Failed - The Parallels Desktop is not installed."

What the heck is going on? I've tried resetting my computer a few times, redownloading, and even setting up a remote disk to actually use the CD I purchased (I'm on a Macbook Air), all with the same results.

Any Ideas?
