I have Leopard 10.5.1 and I installed Parallels Desktop 3.0 for Mac. When I launch the Parallels program, I get an error message "Parallels Desktop for Mac has unexpectedly quit". I repaired permissions but I still cannot get it to launch. Can anyone help?
I have had the exact same problem I, too, have installed Parallels, and I get the same error message. I have repaired the isc permissions to no avail. Any answer yet?
OK. I found and downloaded Build #5582, and it loaded and worked just fine. I am up and running. Thanks.
Hi, I've just bought a copy of Parallels 3.0 for mac and i installed it succesfully. Then i got the same error messages as you. You said you downloaded build 5582. Where can i find this? The only one i could seem to find on this site, was a .dmg file for a 15 day trial? Could i please have a link to the build 5582 file? Thanks in advance, Tara
I live in Australia so i bought it from an Australian retailer. How will i be able to determine whether it is us or uk?
Yes it is in english. btw the link you posted does not work. it opens a new window in my browser but nothing happens.
Thanks so much!. I now have it running an am about to install windows xp pro. Just a quick question though - can Parallels 3.0 run the sims 2? The retailer who sold it to me said that it could, yet i've read about that not being so?
Unfortunately The Sims 2 requires Direct X 9.0 to run properly. Parallels Desktop supports Direct X 8.1. But 3D support will be improved in future versions of Parallels Desktop for Mac. Best regards, Stacey
I found the build 5582 by Googling it, and I downloaded the 15-day trial version. I entered the serial number that came with the software instead of the temporary number, and it accepted it with no problems. I hope it doesn't expire in 15 days. -Bob
