Hello, could anyone explain to me what I must have misunderstood concerning my allocated hard disk space in my virtual Windows 10 machine?
Having used the Configure option by right-clicking my virtual machine on the Parallells Desktop Control Center I get this information: Source: Windows 7-0.hdd
Expanding disk, 150 GB when marked Hard Disk 1 in the left column. ( I have increased from 96 to 150 GB). I also have run Disk cleaning option in Windows, but I still get message telling me 20 GB needed for upgrading and an error code 0x80070070 from the Windows upgrading wizard.
I have also talked to Microsoft support team, but they seem very uninterested and unwilling to analyze my problem. Very frustrating.
    Kindly regards
    Dennis Davidsson

I'm having the same problem. I also tried to disable Expanding Disk option and received an error doing that.

  3. Hello DennisD3,
Please login to your Windows 10 virtual machine and open the Windows "Local disk c:" and check if it shows 150GB and let us know the size of the free space.
If it still shows 96GB then please follow the steps to expand the size of your Hard disk manually.

    Hello Pradeep@Parallells and TomE1!
You made my day Pradeep! I followed your instructions by clicking the link at the word 'steps' in your note and it behaved exactly as you had described!
Thanks a lot!! So now not only have I got the Anniversary Update successfully installed, I have also as a benefit obtained lots of free space on my c-disk for future needs.
However, I can also tell you that I had more or less given up on this problem yesterday having tried all kinds of ideas without success. But then as a last desperate trial, I just entered a line i Google search like "unable to upgrade to Windows Anniversary Update" and found immediately a link to a Microsoft page that suggested an alternative way to install the Anniversary Update by downloading a tool called Media Creation Tool. I did that and its wizard helped me through the whole installation process successfully! (But it took almost two hours!) My first trials to upgrade I had made by the normal way for Windows Update, and that did not work.
    Regards
