    Hello,

I am considering buying a 13 inch MacBook Pro with a Intel Core i5-4258U processor, 8 GB of memory and a 256 GB SSD. I have to run Windows for work and because I don't want to shut my computer down for switching between the operating systems I thought that using virtualization would be a good idea. I heard that virtual machines usually don't run as fast because they have not all the computers resources available. So I want to know whether the processor (and memory) I have chosen is enough to run Windows 8.1 as a virtual machine decently. I am using the VM for web development and want to run Visual Studio 2012 Pro, Microsoft SQL Server 2012 and IIS and I have a Office 2013 license for Windows I want to use. Do you think the the computer has enough power to run these programs in a way that working with them is comfortable? What are your experiences with it?

    Thanks for your time.

Edit: Anybody? I will generalize the question a bit. What are your experiences with recent (3rd or 4th generation) Intel Core i5 dual core processor for notebooks when using said programs :)
