Internet access stopped working

I had to re-install and create a new VM. The installation of Windows 7 that worked well for months suddenly started saying "You don't have permission to use this virtual machine." No one was able to offer a clue as to how to solve this so I just reinstalled everything.

The internet was working yesterday after I installed. Today, it won't access the internet at all (Internet Explorer). The only thing that changed is that I went to Configure and changed it from 1 CPU to 6 CPUs. The reason I did this is that even though I have a very fast Mac Pro, when I use Autocad 2011 in Parallels, the cursor moves very, very slowly. Nothing else changes.

How can I re-establish connection?
