I am a medical transcriptionist working with a hospital online and want to change to a MacPro from a PC using Windows XP in Parallels. I need to know absolutely that I will be able to connect with the hospital Meditech program online using my VPN and DictaPhone Transnet programs to work. Chuck Rogers from MacSpeech was positive I could do everything online in Windows XP in Parallels or Boot Camp that I can on my PC. Does anyone know for sure? I do not want to spend thousands of dollars getting set up for work to find out some incompatability stops me dead in my tracks. Thank you.
At this time, my answer would be no. It's a program with great potential, but for me personally, I have not been able to connect to the internet for some time. I have tried every recommendation I've read in these posts again and again to no avail. I've dedicated this week to getting past this problem (I haven't had the time in the past to really take the time to figure this out and I've just used windows without connectivity) and on day three of this venture, I don't feel much closer to solving this problem. Another factor is that alot of the recommendations for solutions are for a more advanced user who knows more about networking, etc. I'm a little lost with some of the discussions geared towards solving this problem. I would consider that as well. This problem has hurt my productivity substantially. That's my 2 cents.
