I'm trying out Windows 7 RC right now and it works great under Parallels 4 except Internet Security.
The installation menu item is grayed out, so I can't install it.
Please help how to install Internet Security.

I had no problems installing it, however after installation Windows tells me, that this program would cause stability issues and therefore has been disabled. Internet Security IS running, but Fire Anti-Virus and the Firewall are partially disabled. When trying to enable them, it just doesn't work.

    Please help!

    Windows 7

So you have at least had some success with Windows 7? Aside from the issue you have stated do all the drivers seem to work ok or have you run into any other issues there? Also does anyone know if one can have more than two OS's installed just not running at the same time? Finally can I run an OS (i.e. Windows 7) from an external Drive?

I know this doesn't exactly fit this thread but I was having difficulty in finding a better place.

    thx
    Marc

Apart from the issue with Kaspersky Internet Security I do not have any problems at all with Windows 7 - runs almost perfectly!
I dont know if there is a limit in installed virtual machines, I just have two - WinXP and Win7. Never tried to run them both at a time though.

Running Windows & from an External Drive

Do you have any idea whether I can run Windows 7 from an external Drive, does Parallels even allow installation to a specific location (i.e. an external Drive)? And if I understand your response correctly it would seem that I could install XP, Vista, Win & Linux on top of Mac Parallels just can't run more then one VM at a time due to system resources?

    thx

    Run OS from external drive

I am running Macbook OSx10 for first time (long time pc user). I installed Parallels and installed Windows 7 on an external Verbatim drive. Then installed Windows 2007 on top of that. It seems to be working. The way this is set up it is hard to see where the files reside. The files appear on c:'parallels'etc, but the memory on the Verbatim appears used and not the harddrive.
Right now I'm trying to clear up some minor issues that appear to be from the new software and not the setup.

I'm having the same problem with the Parallels Internet Security incompatibility with Windows 7 as the poster above.

    Thx for the info

I've never used Kaspersky Internet Security and have relied on Microsoft Live OneCare, albeit an incredible resource pig it works fine with Parallels & Vista, it may work ok with Parallels & Windows 7 however it most likely will look like another user in the registration and OneCare only allows 3 per license. Does anyone have any suggestions for other security programs?

    thx
    Marc

    suggestion- avg

I had the same problem with Parallels internet security, I've tried kaspersky website and found update for win7, but I had problems with installation on VM (you must stop previous installed kaspersky software... ect.). Then I decided find another security programs for win7 on microsoft sites. I found AVG anti-virus free for home use and it works.
