Greetings... I have installed 2X software to evaluate. No problems running app server and client..it works great! However, I can't get the Web Portal to work-- Accessing http://localhost:81/2XWebPortal/Logon.aspx brings up the following page: 2X Web Portal Notice Date: 12/24/2008 12:00:00 AM Code: 0D/00000002 Type: Error Message: Invalid 2X WebService location: http://localhost:81/2XWebService/2XWebService.asmx Click here for more information. I found one other topic in these 2X forums about this, but still can't get it to work. In the other topic, users suggested modifying files, i.e.: "3) If the address is not accessible find the 2XWebService.asmx on the web server and modify it from the 2xWebPortal's Web.Config. " I'm not sure what is meant by this-- modify which file, and how? Modify 2xWebService.asmx? Or modify web.config? Modify what? to what? I have also made sure anonymous access is enabled with admin user and pw. I am running Windows Server 2003 x64 R2, latest service packs, .Net 2.0. Any assistance is appreciated...thanks. Sum
Hi there, Form the web server can you access: http://localhost:81/2XWebService/2XWebService.asmx ????? If not you need to update the web.config file to point to the proper 2XWebService.asmx. Nixu
Thanks for the attempt at assisting me...but since I am not an IIS maven, your answer here makes as much sense to me as it did in the other topic where I saw it before... I don't have any idea what the "proper 2Xwebservice.asmx" means. One would like to expect that if the installer worked properly ignorant end-users like me wouldn't have to hunt down config files etc. UPDATE- I uninstalled and reinstalled both IIS and Web Portal and tried everything again. For some reason, the initial login screen to the web portal didn't fill in with my 2X server location at first. Once it filled in (in the box that says "farm") everything started to work fine. I don't remember what exactly I did that made the box suddenly fill in. Sorry. J
Hi there, Then it seams you had something wrong in your IIS as the 2X Web Portal installer works correctly on default installations of IIS. Nixu
Yeah, like I said, I have no idea what was different, as I installed IIS previously moments before I installed the 2X software. Ahh, but life would be so boring without the eternal mysteries presented to us on a regular basis by the mystic force known as "microsoft"... (you know, I could use a little more boring in my life).
